HOPAC
Haven of Peace Academy

Haven of Peace Academy overlooks the Indian Ocean, in the northern part of the port city of Dar es Salaam, Tanzania. We serve more than 290 children in K-12 whose parents are missionaries, full-time Christian service workers (attached to 37 different Christian service or missionary organizations), or local or international business people.

The biggest single group, 40% of our students, are children of missionary families. 32% of our students come from Tanzania, providing our educational community with valuable roots into the local culture. The remainder come from 29 other countries, giving us an exciting, unparalleled ethnic and cultural diversity.

All of our students are challenged academically and spiritually as we live out our mission statement: “to provide an excellent, Christ-centered, international education that meets western academic standards and equips students to live out a biblical worldview in all areas of life to the glory of God.”

Haven of Peace Academy is a wonderful place to be! Find out more for yourself on the website.

The Budget $$

BRight now we have a rough budget. It’s not completely ironed out yet because we still have some things for the school and travel that we won’t know for sure for another month or so. But this will give us a good place to start.

Onetime Costs:
Including travel, setup once there, purchase of some household items there and some supplies to take with us.
We estimate at a low of $10,950.00

Ongoing Costs:
Monthly we do earn money for working at the school which will cover most of our housing expenses. We will need to raise a small amount for monthly expenses both in Africa (for food, travel, utilities, etc.) as well as some monthly amount to cover some ongoing expenses here at home we cannot get rid of (insurance, house expenses, support for our compassion child, etc.).
We estimate our monthly expenses between $500-800 / month.

Therefore we are asking for our friends and family to help support us in this journey. We have committed to serve at HOPAC for one year because we believe that is where God has called us to and we have faith he will provide for us. If you feel called to join us in this mission and support us financially, you can do so through paypal by clicking the link below. We are greatly honored and humbled by your support.

Thank you,

Austin & Amy Baum
